Silky smooth fonts in Ubuntu

Okay, I just have to blog about this. If you use Ubuntu of any kind on an LCD screen, then you must go here and follow the instructions to turn on the full font hinting options. The difference is kinda dramatic. Apparently at least one of these options are not on by default due to patent stuff with Apple (I think, I really don't know) All I know is I'm staring at my text in webpages now for long swaths of time. It's kinda like looking at a show in HD. You know there's a difference that is extremely subtle but is nonetheless captivating for some bizarre reason. Just do it. Also if it looks a little weird, putting in less options in the .fonts.conf as detailed on Tombuntu should make give you another option as well.
